Beware : startlogic.com is credit card thief ????

have any one here ever purchase domain or webhosting from www.startlogic.com (domain or webhosting) ?
several days ago i purchase webhosting from them. but 4 days later they told me, they unable to process my order cause some technical problems with my credit card verification, and want me to send them copy of my credit card, front and back, including my drivers/passport license.
I send them an email to cancel all transactions and refund my money if they already process it, but they send me an email again and tell me to send them the last 4 digits of the credit card on file, or the full password.

is this company is real or just a thief ???

Are web hosting and blog hosting two different things?

In other words, if you pay for a web hosting does it include blogging feature? What hosting offer such?

I am new at web design, and in the process of trying to find a good web hosting service. I plan on having lots of videos and photos on my sites, and was wondering what kind of features are the most important for me to be looking for when searching for a web host. Are some servers faster than others? If so, which are the fastest? And is it better to go with a windows or linux server? Are there any other important features that I need to look for? How to install Python library on web hosting server?

I need to use a Python library that is not available on my web hosting server. What is the probable procedure to get it to work? Put the necessary files in my cgi-bin? Ask the host to install it globally or only for me? Your help is greatly appreciated.

If I use Hostgator is it compatible with windows xp?

According to the website, it is only available for Linux hosting but can I use it on my windows xp computer.
